Foteini Lagari is a physiotherapist with specialization and extensive experience in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and Women’s Health. She graduated in 1990 from the Technological Educational Institute (T.E.I.) of Physiotherapy in Athens and completed her Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Pathokinesiology at New York University (NYU) USA in 1994.
Her professional career began in the United States, where she worked in rehabilitation centers in positions of responsibility and educational roles. It was there that she began her work in pelvic floor physiotherapy, under the guidance of Elizabeth Noble, founder of the Women’s Health Physical Therapy department of the American Physical Therapy Association. Since 1996, she has been active in Greece, and in 1998 she co-founded the physiotherapy clinic “Physical Therapy PRAXIS GP” with Mimi Marsellou, which remains the base of her clinical practice to this day.
Focusing on the rehabilitation of pelvic floor dysfunctions, she co-founded and coordinated, together with Mimi Marsellou, pioneering physiotherapy programs such as “M.A.M.A.®” (2003) and “Pelvic Floor Act®” (2015). These programs are designed for women during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as for men and women experiencing bladder and bowel dysfunction, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain.
As the founding President of the “Physiotherapy in Women’s Health” Department of the Hellenic Physiotherapists Association, she played a decisive role in introducing the field of physiotherapy for pelvic floor dysfunctions in Greece. She has collaborated with internationally recognized researchers, including Elizabeth Noble and Kari Bø, and has contributed to the dissemination of pelvic floor physiotherapy through seminars, training sessions, and scientific presentations in Greece and abroad.
The many years of clinical and educational experience in Greece and internationally have established “Physical Therapy PRAXIS GP” as a pioneer in the field of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Women’s Health.
