This seminar, led by the heads of <strong>PT PRAXIS<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>, Mrs. Foteini Lagari and Mimi Marcellou, was conducted in two phases: online sessions on May 11-14 and 18-19, followed by in-person training on May 25-26 at Latifa Hospital, Dubai\u2019s largest gynecological\/obstetrics and pediatric hospital, hosted by the Department of Physiotherapy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seminar Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Online Theory Sessions (14 hours total):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 hours with participation from <strong>gynecologist\/obstetrician Sabine Wunschmann<\/strong>, <strong>gynecological<\/strong> <strong>surgeon Dimitris Panagiotopoulos<\/strong>, urologist Diamantis Floratos, and <strong>colorectal surgeon Savvas Papagrigoriadis<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>12 hours<\/strong> of theoretical content by Mrs. Lagari and Mrs. Marcellou.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In-Person Practical Training (2 days):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delivered by the heads of PT PRAXIS<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> focusing on the <strong>Pelvic Floor health<\/strong> of both women and men.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar was held at Dubai\u2019s largest gynecological and pediatric hospital, Latifa Hospital, organized by Kinetics Health Education, founded and directed by physiotherapist Mrs. Athanasia Prentza. It was hosted by the hospital\u2019s Physiotherapy Department, which includes pelvic floor rehabilitation among its services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seminar Objective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aimed at healthcare professionals interested in identifying and addressing pelvic floor dysfunctions, the seminar covered topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Functional anatomy and physiology of the Pelvic Floor.<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Pelvic Floor dysfunctions and their association with symptoms like <strong>urinary <\/strong>and <strong>fecal incontinence<\/strong>, <strong>urgency<\/strong>, <strong>constipation<\/strong>, <strong>pelvic organ prolapse<\/strong>, <strong>dyspareunia<\/strong>, <strong>pelvic pain<\/strong>, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Therapeutic options (invasive and conservative).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pelvic Floor muscle assessment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Pelvic floor muscle retraining, patient education, and exercise modification.<\/li>\n<li>Prevention and early detection of <strong>Pelvic Floor dysfunction<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Seminar Topics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seminar was divided into a 14-hour online theoretical module and two days of hands-on practical training:<\/p>\n<p>Day 1 Practical Application (Open to All):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Breathing<\/strong> and the pelvic floor<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of Pelvic Floor functions and exercises<\/li>\n<li>Pelvic floor and <strong>core stability<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Pelvic floor health during <strong>pregnancy and childbirth<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Modifications to Pelvic Floor exercise programs<\/li>\n<li>Case discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Day 2 Practical Application (Exclusive to Physiotherapists):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Initial Pelvic Floor assessment (including intravaginal examination)<\/li>\n<li>Clinical reasoning<\/li>\n<li>Case discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Participants and Feedback<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The in-person seminar was attended by 16 physiotherapists, all of whom participated in the seminar evaluation.
